At JUGLIFE, water is everything! Our mission is to educate others about the importance of water and its impact on our health. We live by our phrase: Drink Water, Save Water, and Give Water. Here’s how JUGLIFE can help you, your community, and your environment!

JUGLIFE values the importance of drinking water. Did you know that men and women need to consume 3.7 or 2.7 liters of water per day? According to Mayo Clinic Health Care Company, it is vital for men to drink 3.7 liters and for women to drink 2.7 liters for proper health benefits. In order to achieve these water goals, it is helpful to keep the next tips in mind.

Remember to drink water when you wake up. This allows your body to rehydrate after a long night of rest. There is a seven hour period that is absent of water, so it is important to drink water to be prepared for the day ahead. Also, drink water with each meal. Water is the healthiest option to consume with your food rather than soda or any sugary drink. Additionally, it will help with your digestion as it can assist the organs in your digestive tract to properly break down the components and absorb the nutrients. Water can also reduce symptoms of bloating and constipation. Finally, remember to drink water before, during, and after each workout. Your body needs water to stay hydrated during workouts. It will allow you to perform at your maximal effort while maintaining water balance due to fluid loss during sweating.

Around 60% of our bodies are made up of water according to Health Line. Thus, we need water in order to perform normal body functions, such as digestion and perspiration. Hydration is key to maintaining a healthy lifestyle!

Another factor of JUGLIFE is to give water for the purpose of your community. Our foundation is based upon providing accessible clean water to third world countries in Africa. JUGLIFE has built water wells to supply pure water to those who are unable to obtain it with ease. In the United States, we can acquire clean water within seconds via a nearby faucet. However, this is not the case for places like Amagoro, Uganda. Before the JUGLIFE team constructed a water well for the people, they needed to walk a mile to reach the closest source of water. The journey to get drinking water was a dangerous undertaking because along the way, they would encounter vicious animals. Therefore, when JUGLIFE builds clean water wells, it  creates new opportunities for the children in Uganda to shift their focus from walking along dangerous paths to obtain clean water, to having more time to develop their education in a safe environment.

The goal of giving water is still attainable through alternative methods at home! You can donate money to our foundation to further our mission of providing clean and safe drinking water. Also, you can spread awareness of the importance of water. One way that JUGLIFE informs others is via social media platforms that can be shared across other communities. We strive to educate others about the health benefits of water and how we can share it with others.

Conserving water is essential to protecting our environment as it helps us maintain clean and pure water, and it prevents natural disasters such as droughts and water pollution. Saving water also helps your community as it allows others to have equal access to clean water. Saving water can be easy; here are a couple of strategies to help the planet and your community.

First, reduce your showers to save water. Although showers can be a relaxing time to unwind and clean up, it is critical to remember the amount of water needed in order to do so. According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency, a typical shower head uses 2.5 gallons of water per minute! You should try to reduce the number of showers taken per week, along with being mindful of the duration of each shower. Also, remember to turn off the tap when it is not in use. While brushing your teeth, washing your face, or even cleaning the dishes, it is important to remember to turn off the water when it is not being used. Leaving it running in between uses can waste gallons of water that could have been directed toward a different purpose. Another tip is to re-purpose your water. This can be done with daily activities. While you wait for the water temperature to heat up in the shower, place a bucket beneath the shower head to catch the unused water. When cooking pasta or washing fruits and vegetables, preserve the water for other agricultural purposes. Clean water can be repurposed for additional tasks other than its original intention, such as washing the car, watering plants, and washing the dishes.

Water is essential for our health as it allows us to perform at our maximum level of efficiency. Hydration is key to maintaining a fit lifestyle, so each day we should reach the benchmarks of 3.7 liters for men or 2.7 liters for women for optimal health benefits. However, in order to have the opportunity to drink water, it is vital to understand the importance of preserving water. Be mindful of your water usage as clean water can easily be wasted. Also, it may not be accessible for other individuals, so give water to those who need it. Water is life.
